1. What is the Office 365 ProPlus benefit for students?

 

  • Academic institutions that are Microsoft customers and license Office for all faculty/staff are be eligible to offer Office 365 to their full time students at no additional cost. 

2. I am studying in school. Am I eligible for the free Microsoft office pro plus ? How can I find out?                 

  • In order to be eligible for this benefit, the full time student and faculty member must be attending/teaching in a school that has purchased Office organization-wide for all faculty/staff via the Microsoft Volume Licensing program. You can check with your school’s IT department if the school is already on Office365 and if the ProPlus option is assigned to the account. 

3. How long is the entitlement for this free Microsoft Office Pro Plus ?  

  • Full Time Students and faculty members are entitled for Microsoft Office365 ProPlus until they graduate or are no longer attending/teaching in the school. At that point, the IT administrator of the school will disable the user’s Office 365 ProPlus license.

4. What devices can I use Office 365 ProPlus on?

  • Office supports PCs and Windows tablets running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs with Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. Office for iPad can be installed on iPads running version 7.0 or higher. For information about mobile devices, visit www.office.com/mobile.

6. What happens when I graduate?

  • When you graduate, your Office 365 subscription through your institution ends upon graduation. You may enroll into other consumer or commercial offers available. If you have Office 365 Education at your school, you should make sure to transfer all your files from your school OneDrive to your personal OneDrive prior to graduation. 

7. Does this replace the Office 365 University product or Office Home & Student?

  • No, Office 365 University will continue to be sold to enable students at colleges and universities that do not take advantage of, or qualify for, this free benefit and likewise for the Office 365 Home Premium offer.  

8. If I recently purchased Office and am now also be eligible for free Office 365 ProPlus though my school, will I receive any credit and/or compensation?

  • No. The Office purchased is a consumer offering and students can continue to take advantage of the purchased offer.   

9. If I have already installed Office 365 University on my computer, what will happen if I attempt to install Office 365 ProPlus?

  • The office client supports having both an Office 365 personal account (used when you signed up for Office 365 University) and a school account (login provided by your school), students will be able to remain signed in with both. Office install will have both your personal and institution ID associated with it after the installation.    

10. How do I know if I am eligible for Student Advantage?

  • In order to be eligible for this benefit, full time student must attend a school that has purchased Office organization-wide for all faculty/staff via the Microsoft Volume Licensing program.  

11. Is Office 365 ProPlus a Student version of Office? Are there restrictions?

  • No. Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus is a fully functional software package.

12. If I already have Microsoft Office 365 on my computer, do I need to download Office 365 ProPlus?

  • If you already have Office 365 installed on your computer, you can choose to cancel your subscription and install Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus.

    Please note:  You will need to uninstall the previous version of Microsoft Office 365 from your computer before installing Office 365 ProPlus.

13. What happens to my files if I leave my school?

  • Your files are saved to your local computer directories, removable media, or network storage, so they are safe. Your Microsoft Office ProPlus subscription, however, will end. You will have the opportunity at that time to enroll in other available consumer or commercial offers.

14. What are the PC requirements for Office 365 ProPlus? 

  • Windows 7 or 8

  • 32-bit Office can be installed on 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems, and 64-bit Office can only be installed on 64-bit operating systems

  • 1 GHZ or faster x86 or 64-bit processor with SSE2 instruction set

  • 1 GB RAM (32-bit)

  • 2 GB RAM (64-bit) recommended for graphics features, Outlook Instant Search, and certain advanced functionality

  • 3 gigabytes (GB) available disk space

  • 1024 x 768 monitor resolution

15. What are the Mac requirements for Office 365 ProPlus? 

  • A Mac computer with an Intel processor

  • Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later

  • 1 GB of RAM recommended

  • 2.5 GB of available hard disk space

  • HFS+ hard disk format (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus)

  • 1280 x 768 or higher resolution monitor

16. Is this a full version of Office, available for offline use?

  • Yes. The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline

17.What applications are included with Office 365 ProPlus for Windows?

  • Word 2013

  • Excel 2013

  • PowerPoint 2013

  • OneNote 2013

  • Access 2013

  • Publisher 2013

  • Outlook 2013

  • InfoPath 2013

18.What applications are included with Office 365 ProPlus for Mac?

  • Word 2011

  • Excel 2011

  • PowerPoint 2011

  • Outlook 2011

19. Is there any 'catch' in this offer ?

  • No. However, please take note of the terms and conditions to qualify for the Student Advantage Program.

     

20. I forgot my user name and password. What should I do ?

  • If you are a student from ITE, please contact college services for instructions regards to your Office365 account. For students from other schools and higher institutions, please contact your school’s IT department for further instructions.

21. I am a school teacher from Singapore school. My school is interested to participate in this program. How can we join the program ?
